Morning rituals are an important part of life – for instance, how are you expected to make it through an entire day at the office without your morning coffee? But sometimes that reliable routine could be the very thing that's holding you back.
Whether it's an on-the-go breakfast on the bus to work or a lazy weekend treat, we've rounded up some of the best ideas to start your morning off with a bang.
The folks at Carrot Café are here to serve you a taste of the Big Apple with their New York-style bagels. Delicate ribbons of smoked salmon are draped on a poppy seed bagel, packed in with guacamole, lettuce, arugula and the house vinaigrette. It'll give you all the energy you need to get you through the day.

After trying the toast toppings from Cripeka, you won't go back to your regular spreads. For us, the star of the show is their crunchy wholemeal bread topped with creamy avocado, tangy pico de gallo and flaked feta cheese, scattered with seeds and served with a salad. It's worth getting used to a wake up call like this.
Move over jam and butter, there's a new favourite in town.

For a fun twist on a traditional breakfast option, check out Cereal Lovers. They serve – you guessed it – all kinds of different cereals from across the globe.
If you're feeling particularly adventurous, try one of their signature 'cereal cocktails'. This is exactly what it sounds like – any number of different cereals in the same bowl. The result would make Willy Wonka proud, crazy concoctions filled with whatever your heart desires. You never know what you'll get, but at least you know that it's guaranteed to be far from boring.

This ambitious take on the classic dessert breakfasts of America is here to deliver you a morning shot of sugar. The guys at Patapas certainly have a taste for it. Their famed Ice Cream Crêpe comes with sliced banana and sprinkled with crunchy walnuts. It's then drizzled with a generous helping of honey – and of course, a massive scoop of vanilla ice cream.
We're especially big fans of that last part.

There's a reason these guys are called No Sólo Pan Y Café – they turn standard bakery favourites into something a bit different. Our favourite is the Cookie Lacasitos – chocolate cookies wrapped up in pastry and smothered in melted chocolate and sweets. Is there a better way to start the day?
They also offer a bucketload of different teas to go with your transformed pastries. Sip on anything from the more conventional Tuareg – green tea, mint and peppermint – to the offbeat China Imperial, brewed with red tea, fennel and sunflower flavourings.
